Donut Strong #IVDD

IVDD is absolutely awful. My sweet Major had it who this company is named after and it’s the reason I started Major Dog Co to be able to raise awareness and help other pups battling IVDD, DM as well as of course as other medical and rescue needs! This is DONUT 🍩 our first IVDD SPOTLIGHT for Major Dog Co

Saturday 10/4/2025 Donut looked a little slow moving and wasn’t her normal spunky self. 

10/5 she saw an emergency vet. She was wobbly and walking almost drunk like. They did X-rays which showed no injury and sent home with pain pills and instructions to crate rest her for 7 days.

10/6 She had gotten worse and started toppling over when they would take her outside to relieve herself.

10/7 Donut went to her primary veterinarian and they referred them to a neurologist to check for IVDD.

10/8 Only able to stand while eating. When attempting to walk

“Knuckling” occurred on her left

front and rear foot .

10/9 Neurologist appointment. Her primary vet called daily to get Donut an appointment sooner being the one they gave wasn’t until 10/16 and she was rapidly declining. After examination she was hospitalized.

10/10 MRI confirmed herniated disc in her neck. She was taken into surgery for a ventral slot procedure. They were able to remove the herniated disk material.

10/11 Donut is still in the hospital

10/13 They picked sweet donut 🍩 and is now home resting and on her recovery journey
